Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Shivaji Stadium stations will remain closed until further notice. <\/p>\n
However, for the convenience of commuters, the interchange facility will continue at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat Station.<\/p>\n
Security has been beefed up in the areas around Jantar Mantar and the Parliament House in the run-up to the monsoon session of India’s parliament. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the DMRC had closed five stations \u2014 Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat and Sewa Tirtha \u2014 citing security reasons.<\/p>\n
Security has been beefed up by the Delhi Police as some groups are preparing for a protest with calls to gherao Parliament. Security personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) have also been mobilized to control the demonstration. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police said that no official permission has been taken for the Parliament march.<\/p>\n
Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code (BNSS) have been imposed in New Delhi district and prohibits assembly, procession and demonstration of five or more people without permission. <\/p>\n
The demonstrators continued their agitation at Jantar Mantar.<\/p>\n
Activist Sonam Wangchuk had also joined the protest raising the issue of irregularities in education and leakage of examination papers. <\/p>\n
The protest, which began in June, gained national attention.<\/p>\n
