Kathmandu. The last few months have been very difficult for Suresh Silwal of Serang in Sindhupalchowk. The small lump on his wife’s head gradually turned into a large tumour. In a span of about 6 months, the tumor grew so much that it looked bigger than the head. Doctors told him he needed immediate medical attention, but due to poor financial condition, Suresh was unable to afford it. <\/p>\n
Without losing hope, he got help from various means and underwent MRI repeatedly. Although the condition of the disease was diagnosed, Radhika could not be admitted to the hospital due to lack of money for surgery and treatment. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Kishori Karki, the savior of the Gen-G movement, saw Suresh’s appeal for help through social media.<\/p>\n
She then contacted Sunil Sharma, the proprietor of Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) and a Nepali Congress leader. Karki had sought Sharma’s help as she was aware of the humanitarian work done by providing free treatment to the injured during the Gen-G movement, making arrangements for accommodation and food for the Kuruwa. <\/p>\n
After watching the video showing Radhika’s condition, Sunil Sharma decided to arrange for free treatment immediately.<\/p>\n
He promised to take responsibility for Radhika’s entire treatment, without any complicated procedures or long waits. <\/p>\n
Then an ambulance from Kathmandu Medical College reached their place to pick up Radhika. Suresh, Radhika and their young child reached KMC with hopes of getting treatment. Within hours of the news, Radhika was admitted to the emergency ward of the KMC Duwakot unit. A team of doctors is ready to treat him before he reaches the hospital. <\/p>\n
After ensuring his wife’s treatment, an emotional Suresh told the hospital, “You are like a god to me and my family.<\/p>\n
Suresh’s family has expressed gratitude to Kishori Karki for taking the initiative to take Radhika to the hospital. He also thanked Sunil Sharma after the treatment started. Karki has also expressed her gratitude to Sharma for accepting her request and arranging for free treatment. <\/p>\n
Radhika is currently undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College.<\/p>\n
