Draft amendment to three important acts related to health made public, Ministry requests suggestions within seven days <\/strong><\/p>\n Kathmandu KATHMANDU \u2014 The Ministry of Health and Food and Hygiene has sought suggestions from the general public and stakeholders on the draft of bills prepared for the amendment of three important acts related to the health sector. <\/p>\n The draft of the bill prepared to amend the Mother’s Milk Substituting Goods (Sale and Distribution) Control Act, 2049, the bill prepared to amend the Act related to Security of Health Workers and Health Institutions, 2066 and the Bill prepared to amend the Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Rights Act, 2075 have been made public.<\/p>\n The Ministry has urged the interested persons, health workers, health institutions and the concerned stakeholders to send the feedback and suggestions in the prescribed format in the e-mail law. section@mohp. gov. np of the Law Section of the Ministry by July 28. <\/p>\n Provisions have been proposed to make the protection and promotion of breastfeeding more effective in the draft amendment of the Goods (Sale and Distribution) Control Act to replace mother’s milk. Health workers will not be allowed to recommend mother’s milk substitute products except in certain special circumstances, the government can operate lactation management centers, the province and local level should form breastfeeding protection and promotion committees and further regulation on the advertisement, promotion and cross-promotion of mother’s milk substitute products.
