Hongshi Shivam Cement has done a business of over 10.31 billion <\/strong><\/p>\n in 9 months. KATHMANDU: Hongshi-Shivam Cement Pvt Ltd, one of the biggest cement industries in the country, has reported an improvement in its operating income. The company’s business, which was volatile in the last few years, has returned to normal with the improvement in cement prices in recent times. <\/p>\n According to ICRA Nepal’s latest report, the company earned an operating income of Rs 13.24 billion in the fiscal year 2081\u00f782.<\/p>\n This is an increase of about 21 percent compared to Rs 10.96 billion in the previous fiscal year 2080\u00f781. <\/p>\n Similarly, the company has earned Rs 10.31 billion in the first nine months of the fiscal year 2082\u00f783, which is 18 percent higher than the same period last year. The increase in the company’s revenue is mainly attributed to the increase in the selling price of cement and its large production capacity.<\/p>\n With an annual production capacity of 23 lakh metric tons of cement and 20 lakh metric tons of clinker, the industry is consolidating its hold in the market. In particular, the gradual improvement in demand for cement in the market and the company’s ability to price competitively helped to increase the revenue. <\/p>\n However, the risk of customer concentration in the company’s revenue has been high. 100 percent of the company’s total clinker sales and 35 percent of cement sales are dependent on top 10 big customers. As a result, there is a risk that income may be directly affected by a decrease in demand in the market or a change in the relationship with large customers. <\/p>\n Looking at the previous years, the company had an operating income of Rs 16.20 billion in the fiscal year 2078\u00f779 and the business declined in the next two years.<\/p>\n However, the increasing trend of income seen in the last one and a half years seems to be trying to return to the old rhythm.
