Coordinator of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the communist movement should be united and move ahead with determination to protect national independence and lead the country. <\/p>\n
Addressing a program organized to mark the 13th memorial day of Nar Bahadur Karmacharya, the founding leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) on Saturday, he said Nar Bahadur Karmacharya was established as an honest, sincere and simple personality towards class, ideology and revolution throughout his life. He recalled that he had spent about six years under the protection of the employees in course of the preparation of the People’s War and that regular discussions were held on the preparations for the People’s War. He said, “I used to tell Comrade Nar Bahadur Karmacharya all the preparations for the People’s War.<\/p>\n
He listened with great interest. Will there really be a people’s war in Nepal?” he asked. I took all the advice from him, and he gave me whatever advice he could. Prachanda said that the cadres have always been firm on the need of unity of the communist movement and that he was very happy when the unity center was formed but later saddened by the split.<\/p>\n
He said, “Comrade Nar Bahadur Karmacharya used to say ‘Prachanda’ rather than his favorite leader. It wasn’t a simple statement, it had great thoughts and feelings, and I’ll never forget it. Stating that history has proved the ideas of Nepal’s first communist general secretary Pushpa Lal Shrestha right, he said there was no objection against Pushpa Lal in the communist movement at present.<\/p>\n
Stating that Nar <\/p>\n
Bahadur Karmacharya remained steadfast in the revolutionary stream even till the last moment, he said that the communist movement has suffered a big setback in the present situation. <\/p>\n
“At a time when Nepal’s communist movement has suffered a setback, the time has come to reunite the communist movement, revive it and lead the country by remembering leaders like comrade Pushpa Lal and Nar Bahadur Karmacharya,” he said.<\/p>\n

Prachanda expressed the view that the condolence program should not be limited to formalities but should be taken as an opportunity to express commitment to protect national independence, restructure the communist movement and struggle against autocratic tendencies emerging in the country. He did. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
