Bow. Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Gita Chaudhary has said that at least 10 local levels would be selected and implemented as a model programme to provide direct service to farmers’ fields, prioritizing agricultural research, technology transfer and organic farming. <\/p>\n
During a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Madhes Province Krishna Prasad Yadav and a high-level meeting on federal-province coordination, Minister Chaudhary demanded that at least 10 municipalities be selected for the same.<\/p>\n
Minister Chaudhary has a plan to implement the model agricultural program in the rural municipality.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She said that now special priority should be given to the implementation aspect rather than the policy making.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She said that an integrated program would be launched in at least <\/p>\n
10 local levels to disseminate the results of the research to the farmers’ fields, increase agricultural production and inform farmers about modern technology. <\/p>\n
According to him, special emphasis will be given to production enhancement, technical services, training, consultancy and technology transfer in these municipalities. On the occasion, Minister Chaudhary said the government was committed to protecting soil fertility, producing safe food and sustainable agriculture system by prioritizing organic farming.<\/p>\n

She stressed on the need of effective coordination among the federal, state and local levels, proper mobilization of resources and common plan for the sustainable development of agriculture, forestry and environment. She also pledged that the federal government would give priority to the suggestions received from the provincial government.<\/p>\n
