It’s turning into a journey. Moving from faith and belief to the fulfillment of life philosophy and change, it is changing into a motivated quest. Today’s generation is changing. The Genji generation is now also the postmodern generation.

Since the dawn of civilization, man has been searching for knowledge, in search of wonders, in search of a magical land, in search of a society and civilization that astonishes himself, and considers success in being astonished.

In this way, tourism has always been moving forward in new dimensions and forms.

Tourism mainly fights for its existence by standing on the pillars of human nature as four main motivations. The search for newness, the desire to understand society, the search for knowledge and the desire for hospitality. These four are the innate characteristics of human beings.

Today, world cinema attempts to tell a post-dimensional story of the interpretation of science. It is trying to present a meta version of knowledge and consciousness on the screen. In the 2017 Hollywood film, the main character, Surgeon Dr. Strange, has an accident and his hand becomes useless. The film shows that this place is associated with Hindu mythology. The character’s hand is fine. The film tries to convey the message that man goes out in search of the divine world to overcome the darkness of his subconscious mind and knowledge, reinforces the belief that nature has the gift of God to pave the way for liberation from the darkness of the mind, and desires to transmit new energy in life.

A significant portion of the film was shot in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu is a city with a supernatural civilization in itself. There are temples in every street here. Bhupi Sherchan saw that here the man made by the gods and the gods made by the man. Therefore, this land is Devnagari. Hollywood tried to keep an eye on its secret. Life and life are both mysteries. Cinema has the ability to reach the pinnacle of imagination. But the city comes alive, because of the movie.

Dr. Strange searched Kathmandu. Our society is looking for heroes. There were many heroes in our mythological civilization. The God we worship has been a hero to us. They have been heroes for us for thousands of years. We go in search of the abode of the three heroes, we try to find them or to enjoy the van as if we have met. We also inspire and guide the next generation to seek and guide this belief from birth to birth and generation to generation.

We met Pavibhara in the east, Pashupatinath in Kathmandu, Muktinath in Mustang and Badimalika in the west. We have met many gods. We believe, we believe. Is there a reason not to? Has anyone denied the existence of God? We built the city. We put God in this city. Mahakavi Devkota wrote, “Which temple do the travelers go to?” We Nepalese and today all the Westerners have been inspired to come to this Devlok.

is the Sanskrit name for the blockbuster Hollywood movie Avatar. In the eighteenth century, the English language was borrowed. In Avatar, the mythical character wears a blue body. Lord Vishnu and Krishna are incarnate. An expert in changing appearances. Isn’t Hollywood inspired by our Sanatan Dharma?

Many generations have grown up hearing the saying that God lives in the mountains and heaven is beyond the mountains.

The structures of the temples, which have been institutionalized symbolically of the local existence of religion, represent two axes. The vertical axis of heaven and hell and the horizontal axis of the four directions. Religious architecture is basically about motivating the rituals and practices of living life with the confluence of the soul and Brahman. The final journey is Brahma-oriented. 21st century tourism is particularly experiential-oriented.

In Hinduism, the Himalayas are described as divine. In essence, Hindu philosophy believes that God resides in every particle. The height of the mountain has been compared with the height and depth of the human spirit, which is in fact the universal opinion of human consciousness. In Hindu mythology, it is believed that the location of heaven is in the mountains. In the 80s and 90s, the Ramayana and Mahabharata teleserials aired on Indian television created a repository of knowledge about Hindu religion, culture and philosophy for generations through audio-visuals. Even for today’s digital generation, it is available at one click.

Religious and spiritual tourism should be understood above space. It’s a journey of the mind. The essence of a journey inspired by faith and belief is linked to a lifetime of experience. The full moon illuminates from one horizon to the next, and how much light enters your room depends on how much light you keep open. The journey of faith cannot be just a business.

Travel gives birth to new people. On the night of March 21, 1748, a ship carrying slaves from West Africa was caught in a storm in the Ireland Sea. John Newton, a notorious slave slave seller, was on the ship. When he thought that death was certain, he remembered God. He was afraid of death. That night changed John Newton. The dark and deep sea changed them to the same depth. “Today, Christians all over the world sing in prayer,” Yin wrote.

When the Pandavas who had gone to see Lord Kedarnath for the path of liberation from the sin of killing their relatives in the war of religion, did not want to see him easily, they recognized Kedarnath who was sitting in the form of a bull. Kedarnath is famous in India. In 2009, Bhim Shivacharya, the head of Kedarpeeth, installed the idol of Doleshwor of Bhaktapur. Nepal is very important in the story of Mahabharata four thousand years ago.

The Mahabharata range in the north and the vast land of the southern Terai are described in the Puranas as Virat Kshetra. From Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west, the Mahabharata is still alive today. The east-west journey of Devbhoomi Nepal is a supernatural experience of peace and spirituality for the Nepalis. Not only tourism, but it can also be a living journey of mythological history for the good path of life and the satsang of God.

Sadhguru’s visit to Nepal every year is like a journey to Devlok in his own words.

Sadhguru says that if there is heaven, it is Nepal. Limi of Humla became a witness to his fame. Limi was also in the news. Limi could be the new gateway to Kailash Mansarovar.

Hollywood continues to make films based on the depth of Hindu civilization and the sinister influence of faith.

Basically, the soul is indestructible, the soul is on the journey of the body, and in this worldly Maya, the philosophy of Hinduism that human existence is only a small part of the divine structure and the entire universe, films were made with billions of rupees at the center of the story. Love and affection are the main plots of the film. The characters and presentations seen in the Star Wars series describe the universe and supernatural powers. The philosophy of defeating the external enemy along with the struggle of the inner soul is the basis of Hinduism.

In the movie Interstellar, the main character comes close to the belief that all living beings are connected to the divine creation of the infinite universe as described in the Vedas and Upanishads, when the main character comes to the conclusion that human beings are only a negligible part of the divine creation of the infinite universe as described in the Vedas and Upanishads. The Matrix was influenced by the Eastern philosophy that life and the world can be understood from excellence through the perfection of yoga and meditation, and from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Inception to Avatar, Hindutva has established itself as a powerful brand in Hollywood.

Traveling is necessary for knowledge and experience. Tourism should try to enter a new dimension. The mind enjoys traveling. Millions of Nepalese who want to enjoy the journey of time and destination are connected to domestic tourism today. They have saved tourism in difficult times. After the earthquake of 2072 and Covid, a cloud of uncertainty fell over Nepalese tourism. The tourism sector tried to rely on domestic tourists. It was a year of hope and despair. The year 2073 was promoted as Ghumphir Year under the leadership of Nepal Tourism Board. This campaign was relevant and challenging for the revival of the tourism sector. The Nepali citizens reeling under devastation, fear and economic loss due to the earthquake were requested to play a role in the upliftment of tourism. According to unofficial statistics, around 40 lakh Nepalis visited the country as domestic tourists during the campaign. Domestic tourists are labeled as leaving unprepared. If all Nepalis were prepared and ready to leave, neither the year 2073 would have been an unprecedented success nor would there have been the thought of daring to look to domestic tourism to save the breath of tourism once again in the midst of the Corona fear. Today, government statistics show that almost half of Nepalese have started going out for travel.

Noted critic Taranath Sharma writes, “I am a nationalist who loves Nepal and I hold every part of my nation in my heart with equal affection.

I want to spend the spring in Khaptad, play snow in Tumling, and sing cymbals in the Kanseghari of Rajapur. I love Aghori Gad, Puwa Khola and Tukucha as much as I love the uphills of Tilkeni, the slopes of Ghanghasya and the ascent of Chandani. Whether it is Satbanj Lake or Tyamke Dando, Antu Dando or Chandragiri, the same sense of belonging beats my heart everywhere. ‘

Sharma described his journey to the far west in the twenties with his amazing writing ability. Many generations were inspired to travel by reading the travelogue. It was a masterpiece in travel literature. We are not in a position to say that we have succeeded in connecting the history and works of the timeless creators of literature with internal tourism. The birthplace of great writers, the place of work and the places associated with daily life are attracted for tourism from generation to generation. Tourism is profitable, especially literature. Yugakavi Siddhicharan Shrestha’s immortal work ‘Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga’ has captured the hearts and minds of millions of Nepalis in the voice of Emperor Narayan Gopal. Okhaldhunga was also immortal. The destination benefited.

Arghauarch, the birthplace of poet Shiromani Lekhnath Poudel, stands in the courtyard for years and questions the system, don’t I deserve better treatment than this? He expresses his feelings in the chills of Gauthali,

You say this house is mine,

I also say that this house is mine

is really yours or mine

put a lot of love in your mind

maybe! Maybe we made too many rounds. Invaluable heritage can be lost to history tomorrow.

Ghasikuan is a famous place on the Mugling-Pokhara highway.

The place is connected to the story of a simple but extraordinary-minded worker who inspired Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya to become Adikavi. For every Nepali, this place is no less than a holy pilgrimage, but it has been made amazing to see. Some tea shops have blocked the road with a rude welcome. Passengers may reach the toilet a little below, but there is no charm to inspire them to embrace this history for five minutes. Grass was poor in wealth, but we were also very poor in thought.

People are big-hearted, not caste-wise. This sentence is established as a philosophy in modern Nepali society. Born in Kathmandu, the city of temples and gods, Mahakavi Laxmi Prasa Devkota says,

Fallen from the dark cloud

is God or a beggar?

The question is equally timeless even today, Mahakavi Devkota’s traveller poem will inspire many generations to enjoy the fragrance of this soil. But more urgent than that is the need to pass on the great poet to every generation. How much the state keeps the window of literature and art open for its citizens is how much our society, which is becoming obsessed with English, wants to understand the creator. History is time. It doesn’t stop, but it has to be recorded.

I want to present some examples of the journey of great creators from the past to the present to the future. Nobel Prize-winning American author Ernest Hemingway wrote the famous work Old Man and the Sea in Cuba. He bought a house just outside of Havana. Now under the protection of the Cuban government, the house is one of Havana’s most famous tourist attractions. Mark Twain’s home in the state of Connecticut has been declared a heritage site by the government of Connecticut.

Tourists can experience all the activities related to Twain’s biography. William Shakespeare’s birthplace is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK. More than 25 million tourists visit his birthplace Stortford every year. Shakespeare’s birthplace has become a strong pillar of the local economy. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s residence in Calcutta is not left out of almost all tour company tour packages.

Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Ilam and Lumbini have been the first destinations of domestic tourists for a long time.

It was natural because of the accessibility, convenience and attraction. In the 60s, domestic tourism reached the level of establishing itself as a reliable market for overall tourism. The number of remittances and tourism in the country has increased. This decade has established road travel as both an experiment and an experience in tourism, targeting highway travel in Nepal. The new investment in the form of medium and micro investment has also increased self-employment opportunities for the youth. Nepalis who returned from abroad have invested in tourism and started self-employment. Medium-sized resort hotels have been opened on the banks of the river, the river, the tar and the hills.

Many businesses were started targeting Nepali tourists with a hundred percent target. This decade has not only established domestic tourists as a foodie but also a lifeline for the future of tourism as a whole. The trekking route was filled with Nepali tourists. There was a scramble to rent rooms to Nepali tourists. Nepali tourists were seen at the forefront of the queue as the main consumer of the service started for foreigners. Times have changed. Domestic tourists emerged as poster boys. This continued until the mid-70s.

Time is also about telling the story of the glory of our history. It is time to see our own land of Nepal that has not yet been seen by the changing demographic structure. How? Young. How to? On the way to tourism. How to show the youth the scene of history? How do we reconcile the present with the past? From the narrative of tourism. Who’s going to tell the story? All of us. Because tourism is now our common value and belief. This has become the social and economic political fact and reality of Nepal.

There is a need to emotionally connect Nepali tourists with their destinations.

Nepali tourists do not like to calculate money in the beginning. After accounting, service at the beginning. This is a Nepali law. Nepali is emotional. So now we have to make an emotional connection with the destination. Some new ideas can be introduced. Let’s plan to take millions of domestic visitors to Pokhara on a tour of Adikavi’s birthplace and the places associated with him. Let us make the generation that has read the book experience the life philosophy that one can perform karma even if one is born in an ordinary house to be great.

Let’s create an environment where domestic tourists visiting Kathmandu can spend a day in the vicinity of Mahakavi. Love for language, literature and art is necessary to expand domestic tourism. The next generation is at risk of digital addiction. Our challenges are sure to increase. I borrow Bhupi Sherchan,

When Nepal shrinks and Kathmandu

Kathmandu

and the new road is trampled under the feet of countless people,

breaks down, becomes a newspaper, tea and betel shop

to remember the immortal creator Min Bahadur Bista on his journey. I liked it…… What’s not in the hills………. In the mountains of Nepal.

(The author is Senior Manager of Nepal Tourism Board)

Tourism Surya Thapaliya Religious tourism and only linear travel.
