Mugu. The Kalai-Kulaha suspension bridge at Soru rural municipality-9 in Mugu district has been repaired again with the help of voluntary labour at a time when the locals are compelled to travel riskily. <\/p>\n
The bridge has been repaired and reopened with the help of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) Mugu and the locals.<\/p>\n
The bridge, which was constructed in 2044 BS, is in a dilapidated condition and the bridge is located in Sorukot, the centre of Soru Rural Municipality. Locals of Ward No. 9, 10 and 11 were directly affected. <\/p>\n
Ward No. Locals of Ward No. 6 and 7 have also been using the bridge to transport fodder, firewood and livestock. Similarly, domestic and foreign tourists visiting Tatopani and Tatopani caves were also compelled to use this bridge. <\/p>\n
According to the locals, the locals have been compelled to take risk for years as no agency has shown any interest in the construction of the bridge despite repeated requests to the ward, rural municipality, state and federal government. Meanwhile, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Mugu had decided to repair the bridge immediately after it was found to be in a very dangerous condition during monitoring and civic meeting at Soru area.<\/p>\n
The bridge has been repaired linking the birth anniversary of Nanda Bahadur Malla, coordinator of the District Geological Monitoring Committee and People’s Complaint Centre, with the voluntary voluntary movement. Malla provided necessary materials like nuts and bolts, nails, nets and sheets for the repair. <\/p>\n
After that, a team of 15 people including party leaders and cadres performed voluntary labor for about 10 hours to restore the bridge. RSP Mugu district president Birkha Bahadur Malla said that the bridge was repaired through voluntary labour as it was the party’s priority to resolve the problems related to the daily life of the people.<\/p>\n
Coordinator Nanda Bahadur Malla said the campaign has been launched with consensus as it would be more effective to solve small but urgent problems of the citizens than big promises. <\/p>\n
After the bridge came into operation, Rajendra Damai, a local, expressed gratitude to the team of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Mugu saying that the bridge could be transported safely after the repair of the bridge, which was neglected by the government bodies for a long time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
