. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection of the Government of Nepal has issued a stern warning to all not to sell and distribute items that are legally banned. <\/p>\n
Issuing a notice on Monday, the Department warned all stakeholders that the unauthorized import, storage and sale of banned goods is illegal. Pursuant to sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Export-Import (Control) Act, 2013, the government has imposed a complete or quantitative ban on the import and export of certain goods by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette at different times.<\/p>\n
According to the department, Notices have been published in the Gazette on various dates including 2076\u00f703\u00f702 and 2076\u00f712\u00f724, specifying conditions or certain periods or completely forbidding the import of such goods. <\/p>\n
However, the department has received complaints and complaints that such items banned by the government are still being sold uninterrupted not only physically in the market but also through various digital platforms (online medium).<\/p>\n
The department has also said that its serious attention has been drawn to the trade of banned goods in this way. <\/p>\n
The Department has directed all importers, hoarders and sellers to operate their trade and business only by fully complying with the obligations and terms and conditions as stipulated by the law.
