The rally was jointly organized by the District Administration Office, Makawanpur, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City and World Hindu Association, Makawanpur.<\/p>\n
Member of the House of Representatives from Province No. 1 Prakash Gautam, former member of the House of Representatives Deepak Bahadur Singh, Mayor of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City Meena Kumari Lama, Chief District Officer Basanta Adhikari, Assistant Chief District Officer Mohan Joshi, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shyam Bahadur Khatri, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhav Kumar Kafle and the Armed Police Force Nepal (APF) were present on the occasion. Superintendent of Armed Police Force (SP) of 14 Brigade, Makawanpur, Nirman Khadka, representatives of various political parties, social and religious organizations, security personnel and the general public participated in the meeting. <\/p>\n
The participants of the rally urged everyone to maintain religious tolerance, strengthen social unity, strengthen ethnic and religious harmony and refrain from indulging in rumours or provocations. Chief District Officer, Basanta Adhikari, said that the programme has been organized with the objective of establishing Makawanpur as a district free of harmony, social unity and ethnic conflict.<\/p>\n
Stating that maintaining mutual trust, tolerance and cooperation among all communities was the basis for building a peaceful society, he urged all sides to remain alert against any activities affecting the social harmony. <\/p>\n
The organizers said that a grand goodwill rally was held in Makwanpur spreading the message of peace, tolerance and national unity at a time when there were demonstrations and tension in some districts of the country.<\/p>\n
