. KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumers Welfare Committee discussed on the issue of ‘Supply Management of Cooking Gas’.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Drawing the government’s attention towards the shortage of LP gas seen in the market, lawmaker Ranju Darshana urged the government to make the supply management effective. She said that most of the shops were closed due to the shortage of gas at local gas dealers and consumers were forced to carry cylinders to look for gas.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Local gas shops are shuttered,” she said. Consumers are carrying gas cylinders. There may be no shortage of gas in other countries, but not here. There is a shortage of gas. “<\/p>\n
She said that the same problem is repeated over and over again and there is a weakness in supply and management.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Repeating the same thing over and over again is not good management,” she said. Chairperson of the Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumers Welfare Committee, Rahbar Ansari said that although the supply of LP gas is sufficient in the market, the cylinder has been held while reaching the doorsteps of the consumers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ansari said that although there is sufficient supply of LP gas from India, the tracking and management of LPG cylinders has not been effective.<\/p>\n
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the bodies concerned saying that the directive to map all LPG cylinders was issued 17 days ago but it has not been implemented. <\/p>\n
He said, “Gas is being supplied in sufficient quantity from India.<\/p>\n
Gas is being sent to the market. But the cylinders are kept in every house. Stating that they were in the role of the legislature rather than the executive, he said the government and the bodies concerned should effectively implement the directives. He also stressed the need to systematically record the details of around 1.75 crore gas cylinders across the country. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
