. European Union Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo paid a farewell pay a farewell call on Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal at the latter’s office today.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the meeting held at the Speaker’s Office in the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, matters of Nepal-EU relations, parliamentary cooperation, economic partnership, development cooperation and various matters of mutual interest were discussed. During the meeting, Speaker Aryal said that the issue of removing Nepal from the list of air safety of the European Union was in high priority of the government since 2013.<\/p>\n
“We look forward to the EU’s continued cooperation and positive support in this process,” he added. <\/p>\n
Stating that good governance, corruption control, transparency and effective public service delivery were the top priorities of the government, he said job creation, infrastructure development, rapid economic growth and per capita income increase were the top priorities of the government. Stating that parliamentary friendship groups have been formed recently with various member states of the European Union, he said parliamentary friendship groups with the European Union would also be formed in the near future. On the occasion, Ambassador Lorenzo expressed her gratitude for the support and goodwill received from the government, federal parliament and the people of Nepal during her term in Nepal <\/p>\n
