. Nepali Congress leader Nain Singh Mahar has stressed on strengthening party unity and organization. Speaking at a programme organized as part of the campaign to unite the country and the Nepali Congress, Mahar said the party should be made a united, strong and people-oriented party. <\/p>\n
Stating that hundreds of thousands of NC leaders and cadres have been contributing to the party with the dream of taking responsibility from ward member to the prime minister, he said the common goal of all is to serve the people and fulfill the party’s objective.<\/p>\n
‘Not everyone wants to be a minister or prime minister. There are thousands and lakhs of leaders and cadres in the NC who work for the prosperity of the people by earning respect in their society despite being ward members,” he said. <\/p>\n
Mahar said he had spoken to leaders and cadres across the country and received more than 6,00 <\/p>\n
0 suggestions and feedback. According to him, most of the NC leaders and cadres want to see the party in a united and strong state. <\/p>\n
Describing the NC as the common house established by BP Koirala, he stressed the need of resolving the misunderstandings within the Nepali Congress through dialogue and co-existence.<\/p>\n
‘There are sometimes misunderstandings at home, but within the family, we move forward respecting each other. That is the character of the party,” he said. <\/p>\n
Mahar said that the contribution of everyone from the old generation to the new generation should be included in the Congress.<\/p>\n
He warned that the NC would be weak if the party failed to incorporate all the ideologies and possibilities from the struggle before 2007 BS to the anti-Panchayat movement and the last generation. <\/p>\n
Speaking on the nationality and the current political situation, he said the policy of reconciliation propounded by BP Koirala has become even more relevant now. Stating that social, economic and political problems were increasing in the country, he claimed that the people were despondent. <\/p>\n
‘Businessmen, farmers, doctors, teachers, students are all affected by some problem or the other. There are problems ranging from unemployment to economic crisis,” he said. <\/p>\n
Mahar said that a divided Congress cannot face the challenges of the country and that a united Congress is necessary.<\/p>\n
