MP Yadav’s question: Where did Dhalkebar’s trauma center project disappear?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n . Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Chandra Mohan Yadav has sought an explanation from the government as to why the plan to construct a trauma centre at Dhalkebar of Dhanusha in Madhes Province has been stalled.\u00a0<\/p>\n He said that backtracking from the decision to construct a trauma center in Dhalkebar was against policy continuity and warned that it would weaken people’s faith in the state.\u00a0<\/p>\n Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Yadav reminded that various governments had initiated the process of constructing a dedicated trauma center at Dhalkebar since 2077 BS. He said that Rs <\/p>\n 200 million has been allocated in one phase and Rs 20 million in the next phase and four bigha land has been acquired for the trauma center. <\/p>\n He said, “In the budget speech, it was promised to build a trauma center in Madhes Province. But two days ago, the health minister did not mention the name of Dhalkebar and took the name of another place. If a trauma center is built in any other place, there is no objection. But where is the proposed Dedicated Trauma Center in Dhalkebar? I have a question for the government. “<\/p>\n Lawmaker Yadav said that the trauma center should be set up with high number of accidents. According to him, Dhalkebar is the most suitable place for the trauma center as it is the major junction connecting the East-West Highway, Kathmandu-Janakpur road and BP Highway. <\/p>\n He said, “The trauma center should be in the place where most of the accident patients come.”<\/p>\n Dhalkebar is a major junction of the East-West Highway. It is also connected to the Kathmandu-Janakpur road and the BP Highway. This is the reason why Dhalkebar Trauma Center is the most suitable place for it. After this evaluation, the government had decided to set up a national-level trauma center there. Stating that there are around 3 million people in Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi and Rautahat districts out of around 61 lakh population in Madhes Province, he claimed that Dhalkebar would be a suitable centre to provide emergency health services to the people of these districts.\u00a0<\/p>\n Accusing the government of prioritizing politics over development, he said breaking policy continuity would erode people’s trust towards the state. Stating that the situation was returning to normal after the recent communal tension in Madhes province, he warned that such decisions could again intensify public anger.<\/p>\n He said, “Madhes Province has finally come out of the situation of disturbing communal harmony only a few days ago. In such a situation, the decision of the government can again bring anger and frustration in the society. Now the local people are agitating.
