. KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security, Sita Badi, today met with the bereaved family of the late Ajit Mijar and held extensive discussions on the issues relating to his demise.\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the family members had shared with the minister the pain, experience and expectations of justice that they had endured while waiting for justice for years.<\/p>\n
Minister Badi listened to the families and expressed her deepest condolences for the pain they have been going through.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It is unfortunate for any citizen to have to wait for a long time for justice and it is the responsibility of the state to listen to the voices of the victims’ families, protect human rights and effectively implement the rule of law,” she said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Stating that truth, justice and effective implementation of rights guaranteed by the constitution were the basis of democratic governance, she made it clear that the Ministry would be active as per its responsibility for coordination and initiatives to reach the genuine concerns of the victims’ families to the concerned bodies.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Expressing the view that the state should stand firmly against caste-based discrimination, social injustice and any kind of discrimination, Minister Badi stressed the need of effective collaboration among all bodies to guarantee constitutional rights, equality and social security.<\/p>\n
