The Mizar family, who have been knocking on the door of justice for the last 10 years, have demanded a forensic examination again hoping for justice from the new government.<\/p>\n

Ajit’s father Hari Bhakta Dhakal (Mijar) and mother Kali Mijar met with Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities Sita Badi and whip of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party parliamentary party, Prakash Chandra Pariyar, on Friday and demanded justice for the forensic post-mortem of Ajit’s body. Ajit Mijar was murdered under mysterious suspense in 2073 BS over the issue of inter-caste marriage.<\/p>\n
His body is still kept at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The couple, who have been adamant that they will not receive the body until justice is served, said during a discussion held at the ministry on Friday that they hope that the new government will deliver justice.<\/p>\n
They demanded the government to make arrangements for forensic examination of Ajit’s body to bring out the truth about the incident and ensure fair investigation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the occasion, Minister Sita Badi and Whip Prakash Chandra Pariyar expressed full sympathy towards the pain of the Mijar family and assured of necessary support and initiative from the state in the process of delivering justice. The body of Ajit was found in Thati of Gajuri Rural Municipality in Dhading.<\/p>\n
The police buried the body without informing the family. Later, after pressure from the family and rights activists, the body was exhumed and postmortem was conducted. <\/p>\n
The case of Ajit’s murder has reached the Supreme Court. But due to the collusion of the police and weakness in the collection of evidence, the accused have been acquitted. The victim’s family has demanded a fresh forensic examination at the Supreme Court, but it has not been fulfilled. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
