Kathmandu CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has said that the party’s internal reporting on the elections was wrong as the party failed to understand the people’s minds and their problems.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Addressing a programme entitled ‘Problems seen in Organization Building: Strengthening Organization, Use of Technology and Future Action Plan’ as part of ‘Mission Party Awakening-2083’ on the occasion of Pushpalal Memorial Day on Saturday, Pokharel said that the election results showed that the party had stopped reading the minds of the people and understanding the people’s issues.<\/p>\n

He said, “When we look at the election results, it is clear that we have stopped reading the minds of the people. We have stopped understanding the people. If we could read the minds of the people, if we could understand the matter, our reporting would not have failed. The result of not being able to read the minds of the people was that our reporting proved to be wrong. “<\/p>\n
Pokharel said that the party structure and network should be built so that people can understand the mind. He said that it should be taken up with priority during the party’s campaign. <\/p>\n
He said that to win the hearts of the people, it is necessary to reach closer to the people by expanding contact and coordination.<\/p>\n
He said that initiatives can be taken for resolving the problems of the people only after identifying their problems, problems and concerns. <\/p>\n
He said, “How to win the hearts of the people is how to work on it.” Coordination may gradually bring people closer to the people. Contact coordination may not win the heart as soon as it comes closer. Public relations can be strengthened and broadened by identifying the problems, problems and concerns and taking initiatives to resolve them, identifying the issues of public concern and taking initiatives to resolve them. “<\/p>\n
General Secretary Pokharel stressed the need to update the party’s policies in the context of the present situation and society. He was of the view that the people would start listening to the party only if the party’s policies could be presented in a language that today’s society could understand. <\/p>\n
Stating that Marxism could not be carried forward in the traditional style, he said that the concept of creative use of Marxism has been forwarded.<\/p>\n
He was of the view that the party should revise its ideology and policies as per the changing aspirations of the people and the situation of the society. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
