Kathmandu. On the occasion, former Health Minister Pradip Poudel expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his determination to become self-reliant on 150 types of medicines from 105 and 35 free medicines.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Through social media on Sunday, he expressed happiness that the organization has taken momentum on the basis of well-thought-out policies and plans brought by him in the past. <\/p>\n
He recalled that the “National Ayurveda Strategy (10 years) and a 5-year strategic plan to revive the 370-year-old Vaidyakhana which has been reduced to 20 medicines with 60 percent market share and NA” have been implemented to reduce non-communicable diseases by 30 percent.<\/p>\n
The main achievements made public by Poudel: <\/p>\n
1. Budhanilkantha ‘Panchakarma and Yoga Center’ operation (Vacancy approved by Finance) and directive approved by starting ‘Swarna Bindu Prashan’ campaign from Far-West. <\/p>\n
2. Expansion of ‘Citizen Health Program’ to all municipalities, including 144 underserved municipalities; Rs. 1.40 billion has been allocated for doubling the budget and operating 5\u00f710\u00f715 beds of Yoga\u00f7Naturopathy. <\/p>\n
3. New policy for export promotion (4 recognition of domestic companies, wholesalers to pharmacists) and inclusion of ‘Sowa Rigpa’ students in the license examination. <\/p>\n
4. Establishment of ‘Drug Ch7th Unit’, ‘Botanical Authority’ and ‘Institute of Ayurveda Studies’ started. Draft of law including ‘Ayurvedic Drugs Regulations 2081’ and policy to buy 35 free medicines from medical establishments. <\/p>\n
5. Provision of resources for 100 beds at Naradevi, Army Hospital and inclusion of Ayurveda in the 16th Five Year Plan. <\/p>\n
6. Memorandum of Understanding with neighboring countries, presentation of Dh\u00ed and D\u0101k\u1e63\u1e6dh\u1e5b and starting costing exercise to cover health insurance in collaboration with Norway (D\u00fcrvk). <\/p>\n
6 Suggestions to the Government: <\/p>\n
1. The progress of the Vaidyakhana should be implemented as it is the result of the same “5-year strategic plan”. <\/p>\n
2. The state should make special investment in research by linking the establishment of the ‘Herbal Processing Center’ with the ‘Drug 7th Unit’ that we have started. <\/p>\n
3.35 Free medicines should be taken to the doorsteps of the people through ‘Citizen Health Centers’ across the country with 144 new ones. <\/p>\n
4. After achieving the new criteria, diplomatic initiatives should be made to export Nepali medicines to the international market. <\/p>\n
5. Special encouragement should be given to herbal cultivation by systematizing the purchase of raw materials. <\/p>\n
6. To ensure the accessibility of the poor, the specialized services and medicines of Ayurveda should be included in the health insurance. <\/p>\n
Stating that a prosperous nation would become prosperous only with the continuity of <\/p>\n
