. KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN-UML) has issued a message of best wishes on the occasion of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. <\/p>\n
Stating that Nepal is a country rich in ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural and geographical diversities, the party has said that indigenous communities have traditionally played important role in the conservation of water, forest, land and nature.<\/p>\n
According to the CPN-UML, the indigenous languages, costumes, customs and folk culture of the indigenous communities are the common and invaluable heritage of Nepal. <\/p>\n
The message also claims that the government has been establishing and implementing inclusive and participatory representation in every organ of the state on the basis of equal rights guaranteed by the constitution. The CPN-UML has said that although there are challenges and obstacles in the journey towards the national goal of making the country prosperous and the Nepali people happy, this situation will not continue for long.<\/p>\n
Awareness, participation and joint efforts of all communities are necessary to achieve the goal, the party said. <\/p>\n
Pointing out the need to further strengthen the centuries-old tradition of mutual reconciliation, brotherhood and co-existence, the UML has stressed the need of unity among all communities to protect national independence, democratic constitution and constitutionally guaranteed rights.
