. The Integrated Nepal Electricity System (INPS) has been partially disrupted after a jumper conductor broke down at Shivapur Substation. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the power supply was affected after the jumper conductor between PT and isolator of the Motipur-Shivapur transmission line snapped at around 10.00 pm on Saturday night. <\/p>\n
According to the NEA, there was a lot of overload in Circuit-1 after the closure of Circuit-2.<\/p>\n
As a result, around 180 MW of electricity was lost in the western region. <\/p>\n
After that, due to overload and overcurrent, the Pathlaiya-Chapur and Pathlaiya-Dhalkebar 132 kV transmission circuits were tripped. According to NEA, this incident has created an ‘overfrequency’ situation in the power generating centers in the western and central region, and the generation units have tripped, causing further disruption in the system. <\/p>\n
After the incident, a technical team was immediately mobilized to repair the broken jumper conductor and restore the power system.<\/p>\n
After the repair work was completed tonight, the power supply was restored in the middle and major load areas through the Pathlaiya-Chapur 132 kV circuit. Likewise, electricity supply to Butwal and Kohalpur areas was restored through the island grid. <\/p>\n
According to NEA, the entire system has been gradually rehabilitated through Hetauda-Kulekhani-Syuchatar 66 KV corridor and Hetauda-Matatirtha 132 KV corridor.<\/p>\n
