Kathmandu. Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has said that the government should be aware of the activities that raise doubts on the constitution from the executive body that is supposed to protect the constitution. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 32nd International Day of the World’<\/p>\n
s Indigenous Peoples, Angdembe stressed the need of implementing the resolution to make the constitution ‘higher than Mount Everest’. <\/p>\n
He said that they could not rest assured when the black cloud of doubt that had arisen over the constitution had been completely removed as the achievements of the constitution were being questioned time and again.<\/p>\n
He said, “The constitution is being repeatedly criticized by the executive body which is supposed to protect the constitution. Therefore, there is no reason to be confident that the dark cloud of doubt that has arisen over the constitution has been removed. The resolve to make the constitution higher than Mount Everest should be implemented in practice. “<\/p>\n
The Constitution of Nepal has constitutionally guaranteed the voice, identity and thoughts of indigenous nationalities, women, Dalits, Madhesis, minorities, marginalized, Muslims and Tharus, among others. Stating that this achievement was not achieved in the eyes of anyone, he said that the seniors, contemporaries and the people of the previous generation had struggled for a long time. <\/p>\n
“A lot <\/p>\n
of blood and sweat has been shed to get this achievement written in the constitution,” he said, adding, “The sweat and blood of the indigenous nationalities and all the classes and communities that take pride in this achievement should not become a subject to be spoken in anyone’s voice.” “We need to be aware of the tendency of community members to step back when they are raising their voices on social media about their rights but are actually showing strength and unity,” Angdembe said.<\/p>\n
“Sometimes the crowd is there to show our presence, sometimes we have to show our strength and solidarity through that crowd,” he said. But when it comes to showing strength and unity, it seems to be stuck in the corner of the house. We should also be aware of this. “<\/p>\n
He stressed the need for unity and active participation to protect the rights of indigenous nationalities and the achievements guaranteed by the constitution. <\/p>\n
