Vehicular movement has come to a complete halt at some places due to landslides in Kavre, Sindhupalchowk, Ilam, Rasuwa, Rukum West and Lamjung districts, police said. Releasing the details till 6:00 am today, the Nepal Police Headquarters informed that vehicular movement on various major highways and road sections has been obstructed due to incessant rain. Highway in Roshi rural municipality-9 of Kavrepalanchowk has been completely closed after a landslide occurred at around 4.00 am today. <\/p>\n
However, vehicular movement along the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi-Sindhuli section of the BP Highway has been restricted during night in view of the possible risk of floods.<\/p>\n
All types of vehicles will not be allowed to ply on the road from 6:00 pm to 4:00 am and vehicles will be allowed from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm. <\/p>\n
Vehicular movement along the Kanti Highway towards Makwanpur has also been halted at night due to incessant rain.<\/p>\n
According to police, the road will be closed from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. <\/p>\n
The Mechi highway has been completely obstructed due to the accumulation of mud on the road at Rajduwali area of Ilam Municipality-9.<\/p>\n
Police have urged commuters to use alternative roads as much as possible. Rainfall has also badly affected road transport in Sindhupalchowk. Vehicular movement along the Araniko Highway has been completely disrupted due to landslides at Jirokilo of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4. The landslide has disrupted vehicular movement at Iku area of Bhotekoshi-2, Kodari while the Araniko Highway has been obstructed after a road collapsed at Liping of the same ward. <\/p>\n
Similarly, another section of the Araniko Highway has been completely closed after a landslide occurred at Dumre of Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality-9 at around 5.00 am today. The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubesi road section has been completely disrupted after the Trishuli River swept away the road at Khalte of Uttargaya rural municipality-5 in Rasuwa district. Vehicular movement along the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section has come to a halt after a landslide occurred at Aathbiskot Municipality-6 in Rukum (West) along the Bheri Corridor. LAMJUNG: The road section along the Mid-Hill Highway near Bimirebhanjyang of Madhyanepal Municipality-10 in Lamjung district has come to a complete halt after a landslide occurred last night.<\/p>\n
Police have urged those travelling in the area to use alternative roads. <\/p>\n
According to police, efforts are underway to resume vehicular movement by clearing landslides and mud on the obstructed road section.<\/p>\n
Police have urged the people to adopt necessary precaution while travelling as there is a risk of further landslide, flood and road erosion due to the incessant rainfall. <\/p>\n
