. KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee held discussion on the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081 BS. <\/p>\n
Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, said that the principle of inclusion should be given priority while appointing employees at the National Forensic Science Laboratory. He said that although it would be appropriate to include the provision of inclusive appointment in the bill, there is a challenge on how effective its implementation will be in practice.<\/p>\n
“It would be nice if we could make inclusion a priority when hiring employees.” But now, if you look at the ministry, it doesn’t seem to be inclusive. So, the question is whether it is possible in practice or not,” he said. <\/p>\n
He opined that the provision of inclusion should be included in the bill keeping in mind the future.<\/p>\n
Stating that provision of inclusion should be included as the bill has been brought from the National Assembly, he expressed the belief that its implementation would be done gradually. <\/p>\n
Minister Pun also said that the human resources required for operating the National Forensic Science Laboratory should also be clarified.<\/p>\n
According to him, although administrative staff and sanitation staff are required for the operation of the laboratory, other large number of manpower is not required. <\/p>\n
‘The National Forensic Science Laboratory is primarily required for the operation of the laboratory, administrative staff and sanitation staff. Apart from that, a large number of manpower will not be required,” he said. <\/p>\n
Minister Pun was of the view that although human resources were required for the construction of laboratories and voluntary labour, the necessary work could be managed by the employees themselves <\/p>\n
