No irregularities in procurement of election police uniforms: IGP Poudel <\/p>\n

Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF), Narayan Dutta Poudel, has said that there was no irregularities in the procurement of uniforms for the election police. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Federal Parliament on Wednesday, IGP Poudel said that the procurement process has been forwarded by fully complying with the Public Procurement Act-2063 and Public Procurement Regulations-2064 BS. He said, “The procurement has been done in full compliance with the Public Procurement Act, 2063 and Regulations, 2064.<\/p>\n
So far, no written or oral complaint has been received at the Public Procurement Monitoring Office or the Armed Police Force (APF) against the procurement process. He clarified that there was no irregularity in the budget received for the purchase of election police uniforms in the fiscal year 2082\u00f783 and the budget was not frozen. <\/p>\n
‘There has been no irregularity in the budget received from the Armed Police Force in connection with the purchase of this uniform. There is no situation where the budget has been frozen or not purchased,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He said that in addition to 36,900 personnel of the Armed Police Force, the APF has been given the responsibility of selecting 15,<\/p>\n
000 election police or temporary police from 77 districts for the elections to be held on March 4. <\/p>\n

He said, “The organization has no involvement in the procurement process with regard to the uniforms to be given to them.<\/p>\n
The budget has been released in the format of Nepal Police and the amount has been distributed directly accordingly. Therefore, there has been no irregularity in it. “<\/p>\n
Poudel said the APF has been forwarding the procurement process by realizing the basic principles of transparency, fairness, competition and accountability of public procurement. <\/p>\n
“We have moved ahead by adhering to the fundamental principles of public procurement such as transparency, fairness, competition and accountability. “We have forwarded the procurement process for the upcoming fiscal year by fully complying with the prevailing acts and regulations,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Stating that there was a tendency of the parties who were not selected to participate in the tender process to file complaints, he said that the procurement process so far was found to be legal.
