Kitchen of citizens difficult due to lack of gas: MP Rai<\/strong><\/p>\n Kathmandu National Assembly member Jayanti Devi Rai has drawn the attention of the government towards the shortage of LP Gas in the market. <\/p>\n Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Rai said the daily life of the people has become difficult due to artificial shortage of cooking gas.<\/p>\n Stating that the people who depend on a single gas cylinder have no immediate option, she said daily wage workers, students and low-income families have been further affected. <\/p>\n She said that she has to leave her work from morning to evening and stand in line for gas, but even if she stands in line for a long time, there is no guarantee of getting gas.<\/p>\n ‘Due to the artificial shortage of gas, the kitchen of all the Nepali citizens has become very difficult today. There is no alternative to those who have only one cylinder. Daily wage earners and students are in even more difficulty,” she said. <\/p>\n He said that although the government has been claiming that more LP gas is being imported into the country than the requirement, the shortage of LP gas in the market is a serious issue.<\/p>\n She questioned why consumers had to stand in queue for hours for cooking gas when the government was saying that the quantity of gas available was sufficient. <\/p>\n Rai said that Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has also been selling cooking gas and people from different places of Kathmandu Valley have been reaching Teku to buy gas.<\/p>\n She said that consumers from Bhaktapur, Budhanilkantha and other far-flung areas have to spend both time and wages while reaching Teku for gas. <\/p>\n ‘Standing in a queue in Teku not only from Bhaktapur, Budhanilkantha, but also from far away, the same waste of time and wages is also spent.
