Likewise, the meeting also discussed the approval of the report submitted by the Sub-Committee on Human Rights of Children in Child Correction Homes, 2083 BS. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki briefed the meeting about the management of prisons and detention and search for the absconding prisoners. IGP Karki said the security personnel had to take a long time to shift the prisoners and detainees by adopting various security measures due to the incidents that took place in the prisons of Saptari, Siraha and Banke. He said that the decision on detention and prison transfer could be taken at the earliest and it would help in stopping the damage and organized activities there. According to him, 682 people who absconded during the Jenji movement are yet to be arrested.<\/p>\n
Similarly, out of 13,589 absconding prisoners, more than 3,000 are yet to be arrested. <\/p>\n
‘The number of people who escaped from prison is huge. The number of inmates is more absconding than the number of prisoners we have kept in the jail. They are absconding in the country and abroad. There is also a situation where people are absconding,” he said. <\/p>\n
He stressed on the need of integrating the details of cases registered at various government bodies in the Central Records System (CRS) of the police in an integrated manner in order to reduce the number of absconding people. He said that problems have been surfaced due to the lack of timely details of cases filed by the Forest, Money Laundering, Revenue, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the Department of Foreign Employment.<\/p>\n
“Since these cases are not sent to the CRS system of the police, the information is in a different system from the time the case is being conducted,” he said. <\/p>\n
IGP Karki said that although the Nepal Police has a policy of making CRS a central CRS system, the required information from other agencies has not been brought into the police system.<\/p>\n
He stressed the need of linking the details of cases and accused of all bodies in an integrated system. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
