. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak has expressed the belief that the party would be united under the leadership of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. <\/p>\n
Addressing the national gathering of the Nepali Congress (NC) on Friday, the writer said that although various efforts were made in the past to unify the party, they have not yielded the expected results.<\/p>\n
He also stressed the need of continuous efforts for party unity. <\/p>\n
“We can all believe that Nepali Congress will be united under the leadership of Sher Bahadur Deuba. This is what not only my friends in the Congress today, but also the democrats across the country and those who believe in democracy,” he said. <\/p>\n
The writer said that although they have made various efforts to unite the Congress, they have not yielded results. He said he was personally involved in various incidents for party unity and had observed them closely. <\/p>\n
“We have made a lot of efforts to unite the Congress. We have not been able to unite the party. We still need to try and unite the party,” he said. <\/p>\n
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Deepak Khadka accused the NC of looting the Election Commission by using it as a weapon.<\/p>\n
He termed it a crime and said it was unforgivable. <\/p>\n
‘The Congress has been looted by using the Election Commission as a weapon. It’s a crime, it’s unforgivable. There has been some relief from the Supreme Court. We are confident that we will get justice,” Khadka said. <\/p>\n
Nepali Congress leader Kanchha Ram Tamang said that he had kept the board as the president of Sher Bahadur Deuba at the liaison office in Chundevi without consulting anyone.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Referring to the fact that Shashank had watched the film with Deuba, he asked Gagan to watch it once. <\/p>\n
‘Sher Bahadur Bhai went to Chundevi. I have also set up the president’s board there without consulting any of the leaders.
