Deuba urges to convert dissent within NC into broader unity <\/strong><\/p>\n Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) outgoing President Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need of translating intra-party differences into broader party unity. Stating that the current political situation of the country was sensitive, he urged the NC leaders and cadres to play their role being aware of the national interest.\u00a0<\/p>\n Addressing the national gathering of the Nepali Congress (NC) on Friday, Deuba said that there is still despair in the society and it is the responsibility of the NC to turn it into hope.<\/p>\n He was of the view that the NC should play a responsible role in protecting democracy and national interests.\u00a0<\/p>\n He said, “The political situation in the country is very sensitive at present.<\/p>\n In this sensitive situation, all the friends of the Nepali Congress should be very aware and play a role to stop the activities of national interest. “<\/p>\n Deuba said that there is a need to convert the despair seen in the society into hope. For that, the Nepali Congress should play its role as per its historical responsibility, he added. <\/p>\n He said, “There is still despair in the society.<\/p>\n Their despair has to be turned into hope. As the oldest democratic party, the Nepali Congress should take this responsibility. “Since the Nepali Congress was established through long struggle and contribution, the disputes arising within it could not only affect the party but also the democratic system and nationality,” Deuba said.<\/p>\n He said, “The Nepali Congress has struggled for seven generations from the struggle of 2007 BS to the present youth.<\/p>\n If there is a dispute in this party, there will be a threat to the nationality and democracy of the entire country. “<\/p>\n is an example of finding solutions through consensus and collaboration despite serious disputes and disagreements in the party in the past as well,” he said. He said that the existing disagreements should also be resolved on the basis of the same experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n He said, “There is a lot of experience of reconciliation through consensus and cooperation even in many difficult extreme disputes.<\/p>\n Therefore, the disagreements seen in the party should be transformed into a broad unity in a way that justice is done to all the comrades and the sentiments of all are respected. “<\/p>\n Deuba said that no one person or group should be kept at the centre in the process of party unification. He was of the view that the party should move ahead by uniting the party respecting the sentiments and contributions of all the leaders and cadres. <\/p>\n “It shouldn’t be anyone-centric,” he said. I appeal to the leaders and cadres of the Nepali Congress to be firmly in favour of party unity.
