Kathmandu. Raju Adhikari, chairman of Galchi Rural Municipality-4 in Dhading, has refuted the allegations levelled against him and other ward chairpersons by lawmaker Ashika Tamang. <\/p>\n
Adhikari claimed that he had no involvement in the incident where the vault of the bank was found during the floods and landslides and he himself informed the police about the amount.<\/p>\n
According to him, after the vault of a bank was found during the floods, some youths broke the vault and took out the money and distributed it among themselves. He said that after he came to know about the incident, he collected all the money and handed it over to the police. <\/p>\n
He said, “After finding a vault of a bank in the flood, the boys broke it all and took out the money and distributed it. After distributing it, the next day at 12 o’clock, I came to know that all the money was brought to my initiative and handed over to the police.” “<\/p>\n
Officer Ashika Tamang accused Ashika Tamang of holding the money to show it to the media. He said that he was present with 29 people and handed over the money to the police. <\/p>\n
“In the meantime, the money that I got to know at 7 am was put on hold by Ashika Tamang for stunts and media baazi. After that, I brought 29 people and got it done in my presence,” he said. <\/p>\n
Adhikari clarified that she had no involvement in the post by Ashika Tamang on social media saying that ’35 ward chairpersons are involved in this’. <\/p>\n
‘I did not know that I was not involved in it in any way. I am the ward chairman of Galchi Ward No. 4 who was the first person to report the money to the police at 7-8 in the morning,” he said. <\/p>\n
Adhikari said that there was a dispute with Ashika Tamang over the distribution of relief ration<\/p>\n
Adhikari said that there was also a dispute with Ashika Tamang regarding the distribution of relief and relief materials from the federal government. <\/p>\n
According to him, they had been working in the affected areas since the 10th after the floods and landslides. He said that the dispute started when Ashika Tamang and the MP questioned the ward chairpersons over the issue of relief materials during a meeting on disaster management on the morning of the 13th. <\/p>\n
‘Ashika ji is at the police station where I brought my luggage, you have not been able to eat for three days, ward chairpersons have not worked, are you ward chairperson? He presented himself in such a manner,” the official said. <\/p>\n
He said that they have been working in rescue and relief work from the beginning and requested not to accuse the ward chairman without understanding the lawmaker. According to him, the relief materials were purchased from the market by providing cash and relief materials in Ward No. 6 from the third day after being deployed for two days in rescue operation. <\/p>\n
“Can the ration sent by the central government be distributed by the MP or not? Where is your ration?” <\/p>\n
The official also accused him of misrepresenting himself by editing the video taken during the dispute. <\/p>\n
According to him, a camera was installed in Ashika Tamang’s glasses and only what she said was brought out from it. <\/p>\n
“Honorable Sir, you are the guardian of the constitution of the country, the guardian of our area, do not quarrel, Namaskar, please sit down. But he posted the video as if he was scared by the ward chairperson,” he said. <\/p>\n
According to Adhikari, the controversy erupted after Ashika Tamang presented her style of distributing the relief materials sent by the central government and not involving the local government and people’s representatives in the distribution. He said that the relief materials taken from the post were handed over to the rural municipality after <\/p>\n

‘ Later, he took the goods from the outpost and handed them over to the rural municipality. After the policy was made at the center, Ashika Tamang handed over the same to the rural municipality and the ration has just reached the rural municipality. That is the reason for the dispute,” said the official. <\/p>\n
According to him, the holding center has been operating in Ward No. 4 since 12 July. He said that the relief materials received from various donors and organizations were distributed in a systematic manner and the affected people were fed food by operating a mess. <\/p>\n
According to Adhikari, around <\/p>\n
150 people are being fed daily by running holding centers at Namuna Bageshwori of Ward No. 7 and Dhading Multiple Campus of Ward No. 4. <\/p>\n
