Kathmandu. After last week’s devastating flash floods and landslides, international aid has been pouring in to Nepal from various countries, including India, China, Japan, the United States, South Korea. <\/p>\n
On August 26, there was a devastating landslide along the China-Nepal border. The death toll in the disaster in Nepal has reached 1,222, according to a statement issued by Nepal Police on Wednesday evening. <\/p>\n
The assistance sent from international donors and various countries includes urgently needed drones, DNA testing equipment and reagents, water purification equipment and lighting equipment. The assistance also includes food, medicines, and other essential supplies. <\/p>\n
Rescue materials are being delivered to the flood-affected communities through helicopters as the road network has been disrupted. <\/p>\n
Temporary shelters have been set up in schools for those affected by the disaster. Various aid organizations have also been providing food and other essential items to the victims. <\/p>\n
Srijana Sah, a local who was affected, said, “When we had our own house, we could have cooked and eaten well. But now we have to live on the streets, so we are not in a position to cook like that. People are bringing food, we are eating the same. If they had not distributed food, we would have to go hungry. I would like to request them to help us. It will be very good if they cooperate.”<\/p>\n
Volunteers from different parts of the world have also come to Nepal to help those affected by the disaster. Dr. Zhang Haijing, who came from China with his team for treatment, is treating survivors suffering from common health problems such as fever, skin problems and body aches. <\/p>\n
Dr. Zhang said, “Skin problems are very common after a disaster. Sometimes, problems like abdominal pain, upper respiratory tract infections, sprains, injuries, bleeding on the skin, and wounds are also seen.<\/p>\n

Thousands of people displaced by floods and landslides are trying to get back to normal life in temporary shelters. <\/p>\n
