Permanent rehabilitation of flood-affected people has been prioritized by the government: Minister Badi<\/p>\n
Kathmandu. Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security, Sita Badi, has said that the government has given priority to the safety, protection and permanent rehabilitation of the flood-affected people while carrying out on-site monitoring in various areas of Nuwakot district. Minister Badi inspected the United Basic School in Bidur-4 and the holding center in Lower Pipaltar and inquired about the status of housing, health, food and basic services of the affected people. She also met the affected people directly and inquired about their immediate needs and problems. Minister Badi stressed that special safety and protection of women, children, senior citizens and lactating women should be ensured during the monitoring. Coordination was made with the concerned authorities to make arrangements for the safe and secure transfer of women police, mobilization of women police as per requirement, and safe transfer of women for the affected women. Minister Badi said that special priority should be given to the identification, safe protection, family reunification and necessary psychosocial support of children who are at risk due to disasters and separated from their parents. She stressed that children should not be kept with adults in unsafe environments and that their condition and protection should be managed safely according to the need. During the inspection, she also inspected the prison office, child reform home, Ayurveda and alternative hospitals and took stock of the security, health and service delivery situation.
