CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel has said that the perpetrators and conspirators involved in the violent incidents during last year’s ‘Genji Movement’ should be identified and legal action should be taken. <\/p>\n Expressing condolences to the families of those injured and losing their children, Pokharel claimed that there was a conspiracy to incite peaceful demonstrations and turn them into violence. <\/p>\n He said that the demands of controlling corruption, maintaining good governance, facilitating service delivery and free use of social media are legitimate. He said that these demands are a matter of common concern of all. <\/p>\n Claiming that the then government did not ban social media, Pokharel said that the new generation has come to the streets as it could not clarify the policy of registering in Nepal. <\/p>\n “It is now clear as the sun that there was a well-planned conspiracy to incite and turn the peaceful demonstration of the youth into violence from the very beginning,” he wrote. <\/p>\n “Identifying the perpetrators and conspirators involved in the peaceful demonstration and bringing them to book will be a mark of respect to the real spirit of the Jenji movement,” Pokharel said. <\/p>\n He alleged that the present government was not in accordance with the spirit of the Jenji movement but under the plan and influence of those who hijacked the movement.
