Kathmandu. At the 79th meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) South-East Asia Regional Committee, Nepal was honored for maintaining the status of eradication of maternal and neonatal tetanus for a decade. <\/p>\n
In the ongoing meeting of Timor-Leste in Delhi, Additional Secretary Dr. A three-member delegation is led by Sangita Kaushal Mishra. <\/p>\n
The WHO honored Nepal for sustaining this achievement through strong national commitments, quality immunization services and safe obstetric practices. <\/p>\n
The Director-General of WHO handed over the letter of honor to Dr. Mishra, the head of the delegation to Nepal. Mishra was handed over a letter of appreciation. <\/p>\n
“Nepal’s achievements have contributed significantly to the collective effort to eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus in the South-East Asia region,” the letter reads. Meanwhile, Minister <\/p>\n
for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta did not attend the meeting as she has to be directly involved in health response, coordination and life-saving works due to the devastating floods in the country. <\/p>\n
