Kathmandu. The school has been found to be responsible for the deprivation of the students of Jajarkot from the Grade 12 national examinations. Shree Manne Dhunga Secondary School in Kushe Rural Municipality-2, Talegaun has not sent the examination application forms of some students to the National Examination Board.

According to the Province Examination Management Office, Surkhet, the school initially registered the names of 136 students online, but later only 119 collected revenue and sent the required documents to the board. Only those students are taking the exam with their admit cards while the rest of the students have been deprived of taking the exam due to lack of documents. What is more serious is that a student who had passed class 12 last year was also found to have filled the form and sent it to the board.

Information Officer of Province Examination Management Office, Surkhet, Naresh Kumar Bhattarai said the exam was cancelled after the error was found. Why did you not send the documents of other students? He said that the school sent a letter saying that they had not submitted the documents. However, according to the aggrieved students, within a few days of the opening of the examination application form, all the procedures were completed and handed over to the school staff Ghanshyam Singh.

“We had requested the principal Surendra Bahadur Singh time and again to not allow us to miss the form,” said one of the students, adding, “But in the end, the documents were not sent along with the form. “The students have claimed that they have paid revenue of two thousand rupees per person and have not even paid the bills. “It is sheer injustice that we were deprived of taking the exam even after completing all the procedures,” they said.

Locals and parents have alleged that the negligence of the school administration has directly played with the future of the students. They have demanded the authorities concerned to take stern action against the guilty and provide justice to the victims. Such gross negligence on a sensitive subject like examination is a matter of serious question. Innocent students have lost their hard work over the years while the concerned authorities are silent, which has raised questions about the credibility of the education system.

Surendra Bahadur Singh, principal of the school, said that some students might not have received their admit cards due to some documents. A total of 4,18,008 students have appeared for the Class 12 examinations this year.
