Kathmandu. Member of the House of Representatives, Parbati BK, commented that the policies and programmes presented by the government were not inclusive. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, she expressed concern that the behaviour of the parliament could send a wrong message to the future generation.

“I am afraid that in this dignified House, we will help each other to take care of each other,” she said. But we are afraid of what our children will learn. The government has tabled the policies and programs, it is understood that they have brought them with a lot of hard work in a short time, thanks to the government for their efforts. ’

According to her, although there are some positive aspects in the policies and programs, the issues of many sections and sectors have not been included.

“Digital-friendly governance has been focused on the policies and programmes. There is more emphasis on good governance. But it’s not about the people who are 30 per cent below the poverty line,” she said.

BK also commented that it seems that the government has hinted at shutting down the national pride projects. She also accused the government of not incorporating the issues of Dalit women, Madhesi women, minority women and women from Karnali and Sudurpaschim districts.

According to her, although there is a general mention of children, there is no clear programme on children living below the poverty line, children in orphanages and children in correction homes. He said that there is no special program for the remote areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim as well.

“This policy and programme does not seem to be talking about Dalit women, Madhesi women, minority women, women of Karnali and Sudurpaschim. It talks about children, but it does not talk about children growing up below the poverty line, children in orphanages and children in correctional homes. There is no special program for the remote areas of Karnali and the Sudurpaschim,” she said.
