Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has decided to endorse the agreement from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on the implementation of the Montreal Protocol on the Management and Mitigation of Ozone Depleting Substances. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to take forward this important agreement related to the protection of the environment and the ozone layer.
The cabinet also decided to promote Anjani Kumar Pokhrel to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Armed Police Force (APF).
The meeting also decided to extend the tenure of the committee formed to study and recommend the security mechanism mentioned in the report submitted by the commission to investigate the incident that took place during the demonstration on September 7 and 24, 2080 by 45 days.
Balbhadra Bastola (Kaski) has been appointed as the chair of the Land Problems Resolution Committee while Amir Prasad Neupane (Kathmandu), Padmini Soti (Lamjung) and Dr Madhav Kumar Nepal have been appointed as members. Rohana Shrestha (Kathmandu) has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Kathmandu.
