Kathmandu. President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) Rabi Lamichhane, who is currently on a visit to India, is busy holding political meetings. He is scheduled to meet Indian Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday.
The meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was also scheduled at the BJP office. He is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Nepal-India relations, mutual interests, democratic exercises, security cooperation and dialogues between the political parties of the two countries are expected to be discussed during the meeting.
On Tuesday, I met BJP President Nitin Naveen. Lamichhane, who is on a five-day official visit to India, met BJP president Naveen at the party headquarters in New Delhi. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance Nepal-India relations, explore areas of cooperation between the two neighbouring countries and strengthen political dialogue.
Lamichhane’s visit to India has been widely watched at a time when Prime Minister Balen Shah’s statement on the Nepal-India border issue has been heavily criticized in Nepal.
During his visit to India, Lamichhane’s team will visit Ayodhya and also meet with the Nepali community.
