Kathmandu. The government has taken special initiative to promote domestic production as the national pride. KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Council of Ministers today held intensive discussions on the country-wide promotion and market expansion of the products of the government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC).
Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary raised the agenda of DDC in the cabinet meeting. In the meeting, Minister Chaudhary stressed on the need of prioritizing the use and promotion of DDC products for the protection of domestic dairy products, promotion of farmers’ interests and business strengthening of the corporation.
He highlighted the need of coordination among various government bodies to develop DDC as a competitive, quality and self-reliant organization.
He also stressed on the need for necessary support from the government to properly manage the milk collected from the Nepali dairy farmers and ensure market for the production.
DDC has been providing pure and quality milk, ghee, curd, paneer, cheese and other dairy products to Nepali consumers for a long time.
