Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has said the aspirations of the Nepali people, who have struggled and sacrificed their lives for the federal democratic republic, are the aspirations of effective service delivery through good governance, rapid development, peace and progress.
Addressing a function organized on the 76th anniversary of the Public Service Commission here today, he said it was necessary to make our state mechanism more people-oriented, service-oriented, technology-oriented and result-oriented in modern times to fulfill this aspiration of the people.
President Poudel said, “Self-motivated, disciplined, conducted, moral, responsible and dedicated employees of the President can make this role result-oriented.” The bureaucracy should be able to win the hearts of the citizens through technology and smart service delivery. This will increase the belief that democracy will benefit the people. ’
President Poudel said that there was still a need to protect the merit system and further strengthen its foundation as per the spirit of inclusive democracy adopted by the constitution.
“We should not forget the fact that hardworking youths are able to see secure future in a democratic system of democracy because of their trust and confidence in the Commission and the principles and systems it has adopted,” he said. I believe that the Commission will make special contribution to further refine its work in the future on the basis of the experience and knowledge gained in the past as well as the study of the principles and systems developed globally. ’
Stating that the Public Service Commission (PSC) is an important body for the selection and recruitment of employees in the government service, he said that special attention should be paid to adopt time÷time testing method and technology in the selection of employees by making its works based on modern technology so that it can always select good and good employees. President Poudel said, “The contribution made by the Commission so far in the field of employees selection, promotion and counseling is commendable.” I am confident that you will make special efforts to fulfill this trust, confidence and prestige in a more effective way in the days to come. ’
President Poudel said that it was a challenge to prepare future plans by keeping the PSC’s work activities technology-friendly, scientific, systematic and quality.
According to him, it was a matter of happiness that the Public Service Commission, which has been given the constitutional responsibility to select the competent employees to be a permanent government in the government bodies, has been able to perform its functions in an effective manner based on the main principle of ‘competence, impartiality and cleanliness’ during the seven and half decades long period.
