Kathmandu. Harka Sampang, a member of the Labour and Culture Party, said that many people have become homeless after bulldozers were operated in the settlements of squatters and unsystematic settlements under the direction of the Prime Minister. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, MP Sampang said his party’s demand was that the remarks relating to the prime minister on border issue should be removed from the parliament record. He also said that the Prime Minister should be present in the parliament and answer the questions raised.
Stating that the time has also come to start the second lot of Parliament, he said that the government’s attention should be drawn to the problems of squatters and unsystematic settlers.
“On the instructions of the Prime Minister, bulldozers were operated in the settlements of landless squatters and unsystematic settlers and they were rendered homeless,” he said, adding, “Now they are forced to live in holding centers in Kritipur and other places.” There is also a shortage of food and water. ’
Lawmaker Sampang expressed the view that the government should be serious to manage the basic needs of the people in the holding center as they are Nepali citizens.
