Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Laxmi Prasad Pokharel has demanded clarification in the parliament over the recent remarks made by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli regarding the Nepal-India border. Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he said that there has been no self-criticism even after 19 days after the statement made by the Prime Minister.
“It has been 19 days since the Prime Minister said that he did not come to the parliament and say that he made a mistake on this issue. You despised the country. You have despised three crore Nepali people. He spoke against the nation. The Prime Minister’s words betrayed the nation. Therefore, the Prime Minister should come to the parliament and clarify about this. ’
He also demanded the formation of a parliamentary probe committee into the BYD vehicle scam. He stressed the need for an impartial investigation into the matter and called for the government’s accountability.
“I demand that the Prime Minister come to the parliament and correct his statement, remove the PM’s statement from record and form a parliamentary probe committee regarding the BYD vehicles brought by evading tax,” he said. ’
