Kathmandu. Chief Whip of the Labour and Culture Party, Aryan Rai, has urged the government to take immediate steps to get the decision of FIFA to suspend the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, he said that the government should immediately take the diplomatic, legal and administrative initiatives to release the ANFA as soon as possible by fulfilling all the conditions set by FIFA to save the future of the players of the national team and clubs.
Lawmaker Rai also drew the attention of the government to make necessary arrangements so that there is no interference in the sports sector. Rai stressed the need for holding high-level talks between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Sports Council and ANFA to lift the suspension imposed by FIFA.
Rai also urged the government to make legal provisions to remove ambiguities between existing sports act and FIFA rules.
