Public Procurement Act amendment necessary to promote good governance and competition: Sobita Gautam

Kathmandu. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam presented the 63rd annual report of the Office of the Auditor General in the House of Representatives today. Minister Gautam, on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, presented the report in the House of Representatives.

Gautam stressed the need of amending the Public Procurement Act to make the public procurement process more transparent, competitive and accountable. She proposed an amendment to the Act to maintain more competition and fairness in the procedures, procedures and construction system related to public procurement.

In order to achieve maximum return on public expenditure, promote honesty and accountability and ensure equal opportunities to producers, sellers, suppliers, contractors and service providers in the purchase of goods, consultancy services, construction works and other services by public bodies.

According to her, she proposed the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083 BS to amend the provisions of the Public Procurement Act with the objective of ensuring good governance.
