Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the party would rise again and defeat regression. Addressing the Madan Bhandari National Award Handover Ceremony here today, PM Oli said that people’s leader Madan Bhandari had made unparalleled contribution to the Nepali Communist movement in a short span of time.
“His life was short. In a short span of time, he did extraordinary things and influenced history,” he said.
He recalled that the concept of people’s multiparty democracy was put forward under the leadership of Madan Bhandari at a time when the communist movement was in crisis across the globe following the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the collapse of the socialist regime in Eastern Europe.
“In such a situation, we have taken a path in the light of people’s multiparty democracy,” he said.
Claiming that the policies of the CPN (UML) are correct, he said that the party was not in the discussion of unification to change any ideology or policy.
“Our policies are absolutely right,” he said. We have formulated the right policies in all political, economic, social and cultural sectors. ’
Stating that ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ was the goal of the CPN-UML, he described this as the practical form of socialism.
“Our destination is Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali. This is what socialism is all about,” he said.
Accusing the incumbent government of being a product of regression, he claimed that the legitimate government was removed with the intention of weakening the democratic and leftist forces.
Oli also accused the UML of spreading false publicity, rumors and character assassination to create confusion among the people.
“We have not ruined the country. We were defamed and character assassinated through false propaganda. We have fought now, but we are not dead. We will rise again, fight the regressionists and defeat them. Our victory is inevitable,” he said.
Accusing the present government of bringing ordinances against the constitution, weakening workers’ rights and carrying out activities against the national interest, he called on democratic and leftist forces to unite against regression.
