Kathmandu. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal has said that the government was carrying out activities with high priority to address the problems of landless and landless squatters.

Responding to the queries raised during the discussion on the Appropriation Bill-2083 in today’s meeting of the National Assembly, he said the government has adopted a policy of providing land to the landless.

“The government has already started issuing land ownership certificates from Bardiya.

There is no shortage of budget for this work. Minister Rawal apprised the House that scientific land reforms, production-oriented land management and strengthening of local levels were being carried out with high priority.

According to him, so far about 12 lakh landless and landless squatters have applied for land acquisition.

A budget of Rs 61.30 crore has been allocated for this.

Stating that the government has been working to make service delivery citizen-friendly and linking it with ‘digital’ transformation, he said the government would continue to return the money to the problematic cooperatives.

Minister Rawal expressed the belief that the anomalies and aberrations seen in the civil service would end with the dissolution of trade unions, adding that administrative federalism would be effective after the formulation of the Federal Civil Service Act.
