Kathmandu. The health insurance scheme has been closed at Bhajani Primary Health Centre and the service recipients are facing problems in receiving treatment. The health centre has not received the amount required for the insurance scheme, which has caused problems in the treatment of the patients.

Amar Singh Chaudhary, an official at the Centre, said that the Centre has reduced the insurance cover for pharmacy and laboratory services from June 2

9.

Chaudhary said, “We have stopped the insurance program of pharmacy and laboratory service as the hospital resources could not bear the expenses after the government cut off the amount received from the government.”

In the current fiscal year, 4,376 people have availed health insurance services at primary health centres.

Only 65 people have come to the health center to avail the service due to the reduction in insurance services. Centre’s Chair Dharmendra Shrestha said, “The health centre has been repeatedly requested to allocate budget to the health centre but it does not go unheeded.
