. The government has appointed Prof Dr KC as the chairman of the University Grants Commission. Khadga Bahadur KC has been appointed to the post. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today appointed Dr KC to the post, said party spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.
The government has also decided to provide relief and compensation to the families of those killed in firing in Sunsari and Siraha.
These are the decisions of the Cabinet meeting
1. Approval of the Statistics (First Amendment) Regulations, 2081.
2. To appoint Yankee Ukyab as the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board.
To repeal the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee Formation Order, 2054 BS and to approve the merger of Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee with Nepal Transit and Warehousing Management Company Limited.
4. Implement the Livestock Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act, 2055 in a phased manner throughout the State of Nepal.
5. To give approval for the submission of the Children (First Amendment) Bill, 2081 to the Federal Parliament.
6. Appoint Prof. Dr. Khadga Bahadur KC as the Chairman and Prof. Dr. Rojish Shrestha as Secretary of the University Grants Commission.
7. To provide compensation, relief and treatment to those killed and injured during the demonstrations in Sunsari and Siraha districts.
