Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu, Saroj Guragain, retired, bid farewell to Kathmandu
Kathmandu. Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Saroj Guragain, retired from today.
Guragain had assumed the post of Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on September 2
7, 2081 as per the decision of the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) on September 27, 2081. Due to his age, he is going on compulsory retirement from today.
Metropolitan City bid him farewell today. Acting Chief Sunita Dangol, Spokesperson Nabin Manandhar, executive members, department chiefs and department chiefs were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the farewell program, Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said that the KMC will remember the administrative leadership of Guragain for collaboration, coordination and co-existence with employees, people’s representatives and partner agencies.
‘The position is temporary. The service is permanent,” said acting chief Dangol. We hope that your service journey will be more refined in your retirement life. He is the first official in the history of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to retire from the post of Chief Administrative Officer. Good governance committee coordinator Khyam Raj Tiwari said, “The knowledge, skills and experience of the metropolis would be useful for the institutional development of the metropolis.” That’s the kind of service we expect from here. Speaking on the farewell occasion, Chief Administrative Officer Guragain said that during his 32 and a half years of service, he has served in Kathmandu Metropolitan City as the most memorable period.”Ups and downs in administrative service are natural for employees. I’ve taken it easy,” he said.
Guragain, who joined the Federal Civil Service as a Section Officer on Poush 19, 2051 BS, spent most of his career in the local service.
He served for two years in the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and 21 years at the local level.
