Fire breaks out after a petrol tanker accident at Dhansar of Rautahat, driver taken under control

Rautahat. A tanker carrying petrol met with an accident near Dhansar Bridge at Gujra Municipality-3 in Rautahat district this morning. 

The tanker (

Madhesh Province 03-001 Kha 7811) en route to Sarlahi from Amlekhgunj of Bara met with an accident at around 5.30 this morning.

The tanker overturned on the right side of the road while trying to save the deer that suddenly appeared on the road. According to the police, the tanker caught fire immediately after the incident.

A 10-member police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Satya Narayan Thapa from Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur and five under the command of Inspector Rajendra Thapa Magar from District Traffic Police Office, Chandrapur were mobilized to the incident site. The fire was brought under control at 6:

50 am with the help of fire engines from Chandrapur Municipality and Nijgadh Municipality of Bara. The tanker has been completely damaged in the fire. No human casualty has been reported in the incident, police said.

The District Traffic Police Office, Chandrapur has arrested tanker driver Samir Gurung, 25, of Simara Sub-metropolis-11 of Bara district.

 

Further investigation into the incident is underway.

Now the traffic on the highway has been fully resumed. The incident site lies 13 km west of Chandranigahapur bazaar.
