. Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has said the party should play an effective role to curb the growing anarchy of the government in the country. He also warned that the government’s working style and understanding of the constitution could push the country towards conflict.
Addressing a gathering of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities close to the party on Friday, Thapa expressed dissatisfaction over the recent activities of the lawmakers and ministers of the ruling party.”Every day, we hear that lawmakers from the ruling party have reprimanded the staff, sometimes the minister has made provocative statements,” he said.
I’ve never seen anything like this before. When a strong majority is obtained, the arrogance of the majority leads to anarchy. I am now witnessing the anarchy of the government. “
The working style of the prime minister and the minister has sent a wrong message,” he said. He said that the Congress should play a role in stopping the government’s ruling anarchy.
“I hear MPs and ministers saying, ‘I’m going to break my leg’,” he said. The prime minister held a meeting without a minister, the finance minister held a meeting without a governor. Why is this happening? The main man has been picked up from the Prime Minister’s office. People have been picked up in broad daylight. Seeing that the CIAA chief has been taken away and detained, the ministers have also thought that they should do the same. It’s anarchy, it’s anarchy. The Congress should play a role to stop this, it is our religion. He also expressed concern over the government’s attitude towards the constitution. He expressed apprehension that the government’s understanding of the constitution would push the country into a big conflict.
He said, “The government wants to run the constitution and it must be used. But the government’s understanding of the constitution could push the country into a major conflict. We should not allow the country to go into conflict. I have also told my friends in the RSP that it is not like playing pot, it is not like making noise by gathering a few ‘bros’. Such an issue should not be taken lightly. “
The special general convention of the party under his leadership is in accordance with the statute,” he said. He said they were ready to reaffirm the legitimacy of the special convention before the court.
“As per the provision in the party statute, the sovereign members have exercised their rights to hold the special general convention,” he said.
A special convention was necessary and had the right to do so. Its legality has already been confirmed by the general convention. The Election Commission and the Supreme Court have also confirmed this. Now that the court has to reaffirm, we proudly participate in the court process and defend our case. ’
